The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is now rolling out the mAadhaar application and it is currently available on Google Play Store. It helps you to put all the Aadhaar details in your pocket. So before installing the mAadhaar app, you must read its Usage Guidelines from here. While signing up for the app you might face OTP related issue. So in this article, we are sharing how you can solve OTP not reading/ accepting automatically problem. Just scroll down for step by step guide.
How to Solve mAadhaar App is Not Reading OTP Automatically Issue?
After installing the app, Open it and set a password, and then enter your Aadhaar number or you can scan the barcode on the Aadhaar card instead of entering the number manually. Once you enter the number, the app will automatically send an SMS to the linked/ registered phone number. Please do not navigate from the application if it is waiting for SMS. The app will automatically read the OTP once it is received. There is no provision to manually enter the OTP manually. This is a security feature. If the app does not read the OTP automatically then follow below steps.
Update 19 Feb 2018: OTP Error has been now fixed, you just have to uninstall the previous version of mAadhaar app and install the new version 1.1.2 from Playstore, visit here for details.
- Firstly you need to go the Phone settings
- Now go to permissions control
- Go to Application list
- And then click mAadhaar app
- Allow the read SMS option
- That’s it; Now OTP will read automatically
However, while OTP is automatically detected we constantly got the “Invalid OTP; please try again” error. It will take a lot of luck to complete this step as this app is in beta version.
